New episode of Megawhat.tv - interview with Red Bull X-Alper Aidan Toase

What gadgets help on a grueling 850km trek?

NEWS: 28 August 2007 13:00 GMT by

Megawhat.tv, the new WebTV channel from the world of technology and gadgets brought to you in conjunction with Pocket-lint.co.uk, has a new episode waiting and ready to go now.

This week, presenter Stuart Mile meets up with Aidan Toase, adventurer extraordinaire, who has just completed the gruel-a-thon that is the Red Bull Z-Alps challenge.

With no mechanical help whatsoever Toase had to make his way, on foot or via paraglider, from two ridiculously far-spaced points on the globe.

Stuart quizzes Toase on what kit helped him make it and finds out how his N95 helped - although he stuck to his iPod for music playback.

The kit list also includes some more outdoor-type equipment including GPS receivers and personal beacon alarms - find out more by watching the programme now.

Inspired by Toase's derring-do, Stuart gets his hands on a Sunnto X9i watch for a quick review and checks out its altometer, barometer and storm alert functionality.

You don't have to sign up to watch the episode and it's completely and utterly free to view.
