Sky News puts out call for Second Life reporters
Become a virtual video journalist

NEWS: 7 September 2007 15:32 GMT by
Sky News is calling on Second Life residents to become virtual news reporters. The 24-hour news channel is joining forces with video-sharing website SkyCast to launch a reporters' challenge.
Second Lifers are invited to report on specific events inside the 3D virtual world or re-create news events from real life.
The aim is for members to create video reports on something that they believe has value and relevance to the greater community.
All news reports will be viewable on skycast.com and the best entries will run on the Sky News website (sky.com/news) and possibly on Sky TV too.
To help with their reports, budding news hounds can now pick up a Sky News microphone from the foyer of the Sky's virtual newsroom.
Residents are encouraged to adopt the style of real-life news reports and to use the tools and environments Second Life provides to explain complex issues.
Reports should not exceed 2 minutes and avatars need to ensure they are filmed with the Sky News mic.
Further details of how to create and submit entries are available from the virtual newsroom or at skycast.com.
The closing date for entries is Sunday 30 September.
