Microsoft UK has been quick to add its own voice to the surge of yesterday’s news regarding Halo 3’s launch in States by detailing the upcoming TV advert for the game.

The ad will start airing on September 18 and Microsoft has said that it will focus on the themes in the game rather than the more usual graphics and gameplay route that most ads take.

Apparently a huge model set has been used in order to reveal "the themes that lie at the heart of the Halo 3 trilogy…war, duty, sacrifice, and most importantly the heroism of Master Chief."

The work was done at the same studio where the models for Alien and Jurassic Park were made, and the Halo model has taken up 400 square feet of room, standing 12 feet high with figures standing eight inches tall.

"I'm sure the epic shots and dramatic scenes in the commercial will be a hit with Halo fans and newcomers to the franchise alike, giving them just a taste of what they have to look forward to when the game comes out," said Stephen McGill, head of gaming and entertainment for Microsoft UK.

Fans who can’t wait until the 18th will be able to see the ad on xbox.com on September 14 at 5pm.
