We will replace scratched Halo discs – Microsoft

Halo 3 enters the disc replacement program

NEWS: 26 September 2007 11:07 GMT by Chris Ford

Yesterday, we reported that some gamers were finding their copies of Halo 3 scratched, possibly due to faulty packaging in the Legendary Edition, and now Microsoft has said that all damaged discs will be replaced.

Normally, adding a game to its disc replacement program means that gamers can get a disc exchanged by sending it in with a small fee, currently £10/$20/EUR15.

However, for Halo 3 gamers will be able to get their discs changed for free until the end of December of this year.

Despite this offer, Microsoft has not yet commented on how the discs have come to be damaged or what percentage of them have been.
