Autographed Halo 3 console on offer on eBay

Bill Gates’ scrawl and a whole lot more

NEWS: 28 September 2007 10:27 GMT by Chris Ford

Investors and fans alike have been trying to outbid each other on eBay recently. Nothing new there you might say, but this time they’re fighting over a signed Halo 3 Xbox console.

Bill Gates, the head of Microsoft, had put his permanent marker to the console which is on offer along with a Halo 3 themed Zune media player, which comes preloaded with Halo and Halo 2 soundtracks, videos, and artwork.

Not content with off-loading hardware, the bundle also includes a legendary edition of the game, a standard edition Halo 3 (why?), the original Halo, and Halo 2. And not to be outdone when it comes to controllers, there are also the two limited-edition Halo 3-themed wireless controllers, an Xbox 360 HD DVD player, a Messenger Kit, an HDMI AV cable, and an extra 120GB hard drive.

Phew! Sounds like a deal, especially as it comes with a "rare" Xbox 360 accessory pack, an aluminium case to put everything in.

Sounds like a bargain, no? Well, it is if paying $8,600 sounds reasonable to you. Undoubtedly there’ll be no shortage of offers as there are 6 days yet to run.
