In a bid to help slow sales in Japan Sony has decided to release a ceramic white PS3 on top of some price cuts.

Sony decided on the 40 GB model for the makeover which is due to hit Tokyo shelves on November 1 for the all new price of ¥39,980 (£170/$341/€242).

The DualShock 3 wireless rumbler will be sold separately for ¥5,500 (£23.50/$47/€33).

The 20 and 60 GB models will also get new prices on October 17, and will be ¥44,980 (£192/$383/€275) and ¥54,980 (£234/$469/€336) respectively, a a ¥5,000 (£21/$43/€30) drop for each.

Now, who’s noticed that the white 40 GB model will be cheaper than the 20 GB one?
