The PlayStation Eye, the next-gen PS3 version for PS2’s EyeToy peripheral, will be released as a standalone unit in Europe on November 7th.

It will cost £24.99 and will come complete with the free software package EyeCreate, which lets you record videos, audio and take pictures.

Anyone who is particularly keen to get hold of the gadget could get it earlier - on October 26th - as it will come bundled with new interactive board game The Eye of Judgement.

Other coming soon titles on the PlayStation Network that are compatible are Aqua Vita and The Trials of Topoq.
