Microsoft has announced that while it had problems with its Xbox Live service over the Christmas holiday's, it didn't have any problem selling the console in the run up to big day.

According to the company, Microsoft has now sold over 17.7 million Xbox 360 consoles worldwide.

Other factoids released by the company state that the company has sold more than 8.1 million copies of “Halo 3” since its launch on September 26 2007 meaning that almost 50% of all Xbox 360 console owners own a copy.

“Mass Effect”, its RPG come FPS also reached 1.6 million units sold, in just six weeks since it went on sale on November 20 2007.

Finally, according the Remond based company, consumers spend more on Xbox software and accessories, with a record-high software attach rate of 6.9, according to NPD.
