First Nintendo Wii Virtual Console launches of 2008

Donkey Kong and Harvest Moon hit the Wii Virtual Console

NEWS: 10 January 2008 12:21 GMT by Katie Scott

An old Nintendo favourite is one of two games that are now available for Nintendo Wii gamers through the Virtual Console.

For 800 Wii points, you can get your hands on Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble.

In this game, the Kremlings have a mysterious new leader named Kaos and are up to their usual mischief, including capturing Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. Now it's up to Dixie Kong and the newest Kong, a giant infant named Kiddy, to rescue the two missing apes.

Also on the console is Harvest Moon, which is also available for 800 Wii points.

Gamers can become a farmer, sowing seeds, milking cows and herding sheep. Hmmmm....

For a break from the hard graft, farmers can chat up the ladies and hope to get married and have kids. (That's a break?)
