CES 2008: Microsoft and BT to turn Xbox into set top box

IPTV for 360

NEWS: 7 January 2008 5:51 GMT by

Robbie Bach, Microsoft's president of Entertainment & Devices Division delivered what could be descrived as the most exciting news as part of Bill Gates' final CES keynote speech.

Bach announced that BT, who has done deals with Sony for their PSP recently, will get the partnership in the UK to offer an IPTV service through the Xbox 360.

Very little information on the service was revealed but Bach said that UK consumers will be able to buy an Xbox 360 from BT as a retailer and service provider.

No dates or more information was revealed, and pricing or content availability was not touched on at all.
