CES 2008: Gateway debuts FX Edition gaming laptop

Comes with 17-inch screen and new Intel Mobile Extreme X7900 processor

Gateway has announced its first FX Edition laptop for gamers at CES in Las Vegas.

THe new P-Series FX Edition laptops will feature an Intel Core 2 Duo processor with Intel Centrino Mobile Technology, NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTS 512MB GDDR3 graphics solution, HDMI and ESATA ports, as well as a 17-inch display.

The top of the range model, the P-171XL FX Edition will come with the Intel Mobile Extreme X7900 processor, which can be overclocked for even greater responsiveness, a HD-DVD drive, 3072MB of DDR2 SDRAM, and 400GB of storage via two hard drives.

The notebooks also come with an integrated webcam, 5-in-1 memory card reader and 802.11 draft-n wireless and Bluetooth connectivity.

Prices range between $1349.99 and $2999.99.
