Rockstar Games has acquired Empire Earth developer Mad Doc Software for an undisclosed sum.

The two companies had already worked together on the Xbox 360 version of Bully: Scholarship Edition.

Mad Doc Software will now become Rockstar New England, but it has not revealed what the team there will be working on.

"The team at Mad Doc Software is extremely talented", said Sam Houser, the big cheese at Rockstar Games.

"Bringing them within the Rockstar Games family will enhance our core technology and further support our commitment to creating progressive and innovative gaming experiences."

Rockstar now runs nine studios around the world.
