Gamers keen to get playing the highly anticipated Killzone 2 on the PS3 will have to bare some bad news. Sony has said that it will not be releasing the game until February 2009.
The move means that Resistance 2, another big first person shooter from Sony, will have a free run in time for Christmas on the PS3 without having to share the limelight, however it will still have to compete against Microsoft's Gears of War 2 on the Xbox 360.
The game was originally planned to be released sometime in September this year, however David Reeves, SCEE CEO made the comments about the delay at the company's PlayStation Day in London.
The first person action title looks to pack a real punch with impressive graphics clearly pushing the boundaries. As for game, the first person shooter should tick all the boxes, but in the demo we saw we're not so sure it will bring masses of new elements to the genre over what is already offered by Call of Duty 4 or Gears of War on the Xbox 360.
It's a long way till February, and by the time Killzone 2 comes out will have Gears 2 and Sony's other big shooter Resistance 2. Lets hope the magic will come between now and then.
