Resident Evil site shows cryptic clip

With a countdown that counts up?

NEWS: 27 May 2008 13:56 GMT by Verity Burns

A strange video has cropped up on the official Resident Evil website.

Headed "Resident Evil: Countdown", the ongoing clip appears to be of a discarded video camera that is lying on the ground - focused on a bus wreck.

Apparently a teaser for the upcoming Resident Evil 5 on PS3 and Xbox 360, it's certainly leaving people guessing. Not only is the setting all a bit odd - there are two timers that seem to be counting upwards, about an hour and a half apart.

There have been several different reports of other goings on, such as a young boy walking around in a rather strange manner (a zombie?), and the clock changing to counting down instead of up. It's got us baffled.

The official Resident Evil 5 trailer has been promised for 30 May, so perhaps that will uncover the meaning behind this. Check it out for yourself and let us know if you see anything different.
