NEWS: 25 June 2008 12:49 GMT by Verity Burns

Even though its still not due for release for just over two months, it seems everyone is talking about Spore. And no doubt EA quite like it that way.

Maxis, an EA studio, has today announced the limited Galactic Edition of the highly-anticipated game.

This special box will contain the Making of Spore DVD, "The Art of Spore" hardback mini-book, a fold-out Spore poster, and a premium 100-page Galactic Handbook. The Galactic Edition will also feature a DVD documentary from the National Geographic Channel called "How to Build a Better Being".

For those who don't know, Spore comes from the makers of The Sims and gives players their own personal universe in a box.

Create and evolve life, establish tribes, build civilizations, sculpt entire worlds and explore a universe filled with creations made by other gamers. Spore allows players to customise nearly every aspect of their universe, from creatures and vehicles to buildings, and even UFOs.

The UK the Galactic Edition of Spore will be available for an extra fiver, priced at £44.99 while the regular edition will retail at £39.99.

Spore will be available for PC, Mac, Nintendo DS and mobile phones from 5th September.
