Sony has announced it will launch games that will complement the GPS PSP add-on due to be launched later this year.

“That’s [GPS] going to be a big one for us,” said John Koller, Sony’s senior marketing manager for PSP.

“It changes the dynamics of GPS but also changes the way developers think about games on PSP because you can start integrating GPS into it.”

Koller stated that the GPS add-on would be shopped to publishers this year, but that the company had already looked in to the ways it could be used in games.

“There’s been a number of things that our first-party worldwide studios have looked at, and they’ve been trying to look at different options,” said Koller.

When asked if we would have a GPS game from Sony at the beginning of next year then, Koller replied: “Yeah, we’ll probably lead the way on that."
