World Tour "leaked" tracklist is one big fake

Activision and Red Octane confirm

NEWS: 25 July 2008 16:34 GMT by Verity Burns

If you read our post yesterday of the rumoured Guitar Hero: World Tour tracklist and got yourself all excited - we did warn you. It appears that it was indeed just some Guitar Hero fanatic with a big imagination.

With songs including Tool, Pink Floyd and Thin Lizzy, it looked like a good set-up and one we could actually get excited about. But the list was only floating around the net for a few hours before it was shot down in flames.

Yes, the guys at Activision and Red Octane squished our joy in one foul swoop with the announcement that it is indeed a fake. Although it does contain some songs that are in the game - Van Halen's Hot for Teacher is one - they put the bulk of it down to "wishful thinking and pure speculation".

Darn it.

Have Your Say
  • i stil believe and hope that this is the real setlist

-first off- the person who would have faked it had to know just about every known artist, venue, and battle
-secondly- names like qq and sdmf lead me to think it has a significance
-also, i believe that neversoft chose the soundtrack, activision produces and gives the public news
guitar hero world tour, united States
