Sega has announced that it is creating yet another House of the Dead sequel for the Nintendo Wii for those not content with the Dreamcast remake.
Announced at the Leipzig Games Convention in Germany the new title; House of the Dead Overkill will be an all new pulp-horro created by London-based studio Headstrong Games.
According to Sega, the game will take us back to the beginning of the series, a la Batman and Bond.
House of the Dead: OVERKILL "uncovers the ugly, terrifying, red hot secrets behind the House of the Dead; the daddy of all over-the-top shooters" say Sega.
“Paying homage to the pulp horror comics and films that inspired generations of gore fans, The House of the Dead: OVERKILL will expose gamers to a brand-new fleshy rollercoaster ride of revolting dismemberment,” commented Gary Knight, European Marketing Director at SEGA Europe. “This is the hardcore Wii title you’ve been waiting for.”
The news comes as the Nintendo has been criticised by mainstream media for another Sega title Madworld.
Earlier in the month the Daily Mail reported that Sega was spoiling "the family fun image of the Wii."
The game is due out early 2009.
