LinkThis Microsoft announcement is another non-news event.
Ever since I've started reading gaming news items I've come across totally un-newsworthy pronouncements and statements masquerading as headline or breaking or sensational news.
It's a real pity that developers, corporation reps, journalists can be so egotistical they actually believe their opinion is a definitive truth. What makes it worth is that interviewers rarely say "what evidence do you have to back that up"? or "(How) can you prove that's true".
I'm getting tired of pointing this out.
