28 March 2007 - Ankh: Heart of Osiris isn't so much the sequel to last year's point & click adventure Ankh, but a standalone expansion pack.
At the end of Ankh, the first game, the lead character Assil was able to dispel the death curse, free the pharaoh's daughter and keep the ankh. As a plus to also came across his dream woman, Thara. But of course, where there's a storyline, there's trouble.
The pharaoh's daughter is keen to keep hold of Assil for herself and of course Osiris wants the ankh back. Dirty tricks are played and Assil finds himself without the ankh, and the lady in his life, Thara.
Heart of Osiris keeps the mouse control of the first game, letting you interact with the environment, talking to different people and picking up items. Solve puzzles along the way, while covering familiar territory, Cairo, but at night and use the "hands-on" codewheel which is included in the box. The wheel will help solve a puzzle that will unlock the title for the player.
You'll also be able to play as the Pharaoh, not just Assil and Thara, and the fun animation and challenging puzzles will keep your meter running. Don't expect any huge surprises though as it revisits a lot of covered ground.

VERDICT
If you like your adventures to be quirky, 3D and fun, then Heart of Osiris will deliver. There are quite a few hours of play here, and it is one for younger gamers so either leave them to it or be prepared to be patient.
